Who we are
MyBattlefield Guide is operated by Matthew Menneke, trading as On the Front Tours, Müllheim, Germany. Email: info@mybattlefieldguide.com. We are the data controller for personal data processed through the app.
What data we collect
Account data: your email address and name, if you create an account.
Location data: the app uses your device’s GPS location while a tour is running so it can guide you to each stop and trigger content when you arrive.
Purchase data: if you buy a tour, payment is handled by Google Play. We receive confirmation of the purchase but never your card details.
Technical data: device type, operating system version and crash reports, used to fix bugs and improve the app.
Why we use it
We use your data to provide the tours you have downloaded or purchased, manage your account, keep the app working and respond to support requests. The legal bases are performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in running and improving the app (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Where we need your consent, for example for location access, we ask for it in the app and you can withdraw it at any time in your device settings.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We only share it with service providers who help us run the app: [Google (Play Store, Firebase), hosting provider, etc.]. Some of these providers may process data outside the EU. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep account data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data within [30] days, unless we are legally required to keep it (for example, purchase records for tax purposes, kept for up to 10 years under German law).
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, to restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email info@mybattlefieldguide.com. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. In Baden-Württemberg, this is the Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Delete your MyBattlefield Guide account
MyBattlefield Guide is published by On the Front Tours. You can delete your account and associated data at any time.
How to request deletion
In the app: go to [Settings → Account → Delete account].
By email: send an email to info@mybattlefieldguide.com from the address linked to your account, with the subject line “Delete my account”. We will confirm by email once it’s done.
What we delete
Your account details (name, email address), your saved progress and preferences, and any location data linked to your account.
What we keep, and for how long
Records of purchases are kept for up to 10 years, as required by German tax law. These are not used for any other purpose. Anonymised usage statistics that cannot identify you may also be retained.
Timeframe
Deletion is completed within 30 days of your request.
Note: uninstalling the app does not delete your account. Purchases made through Google Play are managed in your Google account.

We may update this policy. The current version is always available on this page.
